Day 2 Climbing / Tower Bridge / Buckingham Palace

The day started with a free Breakfast! Nothing too fancy. Some cereal and toast. Aaron was hoping for some eggs and bacon, but was happy with what he got. We seemed to be the only people in pajamas, which was pretty uncomfortable until another American couple walked in wearing theirs.

We decided to find a grocery store to get snacks and lunch for the day (food  EVERYTHING is expensive here). Instead, we found a tiny co-op where we bought bananas, cheese, and stuff for peanut butter sandwiches.

Our goal for the day was to climb, and climb we did. Last night, we found an awesome gym called the Arch Climbing Wall online. We kept seeing word "biscuit", while googleing, which was a little confusing. Turns out a few months ago, they added a new building to the gym by putting up climbing walls in an old biscuit factory a couple blocks away. Turns out biscuit factories make for pretty great rock climbing gyms.

We exchanged beta with a couple of cool climbers and worked some reachy problems. The gym has this 20 something foot tunnel for roof climbing and traversing. We ended up campusing a portion of it like monkey bars. Kaylea got in her 20 minute yoga session before we ate lunch.

We climbed for another 45 minutes before we were both too pumped out to keep going. Aaron took some awful pictures of Kaylea's gross, massive shoulders. Thanks to Aaron, pictures can be seen here:

On the way back we decided to checkout London bridge on a whim. From there, we had a really great view of Tower bridge. It looked pretty awesome, so we kinda had to walk over to it. On the way, we saw the Tower of London across the river. It's just on the other side of the bridge, so we walked across to check it out. The giant castle closed in an hour, so we just snapped some pictures around the outside and decided we'd come back another day. It was around that time that we realized that all the walking was starting to hurt our feet.

We decided to head back... BUT FIRST WE HAD TO SEE BUCKINGHAM PALACE! That's right. We saw it. It was only a short walk from another station. By the time we found it, it was well worth the short walk. You really can't get any more British than Buckingham freaking palace. British flags everywhere, Queens Guard, the works! We had a short discussion about what they might do when they have to go to the bathroom, then decided we needed some food. Our bodies were not happy about the short walk to the train station. 19,166 (fitbit verified) steps in a day is a bit more than we're used to. We're hoping to acclimate by the time we leave.

We hobbled our way back to hostel for some food. Kaylea cooked some pasta. There was no olive oil or seasoning.

But it was still pretty good. Then we wrote this. Now we've got to get some rest to get ready for the greatest henge of all time.

Day 9 & 10: Ice Ice Baby

Get ready for a two-dayer! Day 9: Like every other blog post before this one, we woke up. The breakfast at Fosshotel wasn't very substantial, and the options were pretty limited. The continental breakfast was a few slices of cheese, meat, and cucumbers. Kaylea had some lackluster pancakes. We had a glacier hike to get to, so we ate as much as we could. After that, we spent a little time working on the blog and getting ready before we made our way out. We put on all of our thermal gear, and a bunch of layers, and hit the road.   We were only about 20 minutes away, but 20 minutes in snow gear in the car gets pretty hot. We pulled up to the meeting spot for our tour, and our guide was just wearing a long sleeve shirt. We got out and asked how cold it's going to be on the glacier, and she said "It's like this. Maybe just bring a light jacket." So we had to take off a bunch of layers in the parking lot. We met some of our fellow tourists, and hopped in a van to head to

Day 4 - Nations Divided by A Common Language

We got a pretty late start this morning. We had a lot planned for the day, but nothing was too time sensitive, so we got some much needed rest. However, it wasn't the best sleep of all time. The walls here are paper thin, and people were constantly letting this door right outside our room slam shut. Also, Aaron smacked his head on the bunk bed during the night but has no recollection of it.  Once we got up and going, the hostel was pretty much empty. Or rather, empty of kids, and filled with the cleaning crew, who didn't seem to like us being there. After they wouldn't let us into the kitchen to fill up our water bottles, it dawned on us that we're having a little bit of trouble communicating. First thing we did was head to the Tower of London. We didn't get to go inside the first time we visited, so we decided to go back. It was a pretty great museum (K - "meh"). It started to get really crowded towards the end, and the line to see the crown jewels wa
